Welcome to Issue 5 of World Of Wendy, which just so happens to be our anniversary issue. We've been going for one whole year now !!!
Okay, we're still 69 years behind "The Melody Maker", but you won't find any "bis" lurking in our pages.
Thanks to everyone who has written in. Please continue to do so. Just write in with any suggestions or queries that you may have.
What do you think of the new style cover?
Thanks again,
Best wishes,
Steve & Donna. |

Born in the usual way
Never felt right at school
Then in the local with
He wanted it ripped to shreds
Finding contracts with hope in mind |
Perhaps a girl born to be bad
In '89 she was quite huge
Came '91, what went wrong?
If you thought a comeback would be never |

| TOP TEN WENDYS |
|
1 * WENDY JAMES Obviously choice really. As they say in Highlander, "There can be only one." Style, attitude and class WENDY has all of these qualities and more. Natural Brilliance!! 2 * Stan Bowles Without a doubt not a 'bona fide' Wendy but was the best footballer I've ever seen. 3 * Wendy Richards Pauline Fowler on 'Eastenders', has more problems than most but always comes through. 4 * Wendy Craig Used to appear in Butterflies, Nanny and Mother makes 3. 5 * Wendy Lloyd Until recently a Radio One d.j, a bit like Jakki Brambles! 6 * Wendy O'Williams Punky type woman than from the Plasmatics, would've been lost without her 'gaffer' tape. 7 * Wendy Wu Lead singer of the 'Photos' had a hit or two, years ago. 8 * Wendy, from New Zealand Serves a lovely pint of Guinness down at our local the 'Duke of Conaught'. 9 * Wendy Hughes Fine Australian actress, yet to appear in 'Neighbors'!!! 10 * Wendy Padbury Used to play 'Zoe' in Dr. Who, many light years ago. |

| WELCOME TO THE WENDY HOUSE | |
|
| |
| 1*REVOLUTION BABY | Loved this from the first time I saw the video on the Chart Show. A true Goddess, given the chances I would have done the same. Hooked and in love! |
| 2*DOWN ON YOU | If you've ever truly been in love this song is for you. Played live only 'SEX KICK' could touch it. |
| 3*KISS THEIR SONS | A song of epic proportions. Again live the act became real. A crowd pleaser..loved it every time. |
| 4*SEX KICK | The greatest live song ever. This is a timeless anthem that still sounds great today. Only WENDY could dominate the stage and enthrall the crowd with such authority. |
| 5*ONLY A FOOL | A really sexy song. Again should have been a single or at least on the album. More than a match to Costello's lyrics. |
| 6*AINT NO RULES | Another good song live. Decadent and brilliant. |
| 7*I WANT TO STAND FOREVER | The indomitable spirit of WENDY easily surpasses Costello's lyrics. |
| 8*FILL IN THE BLANKS | After years of negative vibes from the Press, this song puts everything into perspective. |
| 9*TWANGY WIGOUT | Chill out zone. A definite hit. Should have been released. |
| 10*IF LOOKS COULD KILL | Opening number on their tour. Got pushed to the floor!! |
| 11*CRAWL OUT YOUR WINDOW | Dylanesque but very '90's. Proving WENDY CAN sing a varied repertoire. |
| 12*THE NAMELESS ONE | Clubby. Fab video. Excellent solo debut. |
| 13*TO ALL THE BEGINNERS | Marianne Faithful feel to this track. With all the angst. |
| 14*HONEY HONEY | Unknown to anyone but myself this track reminds me of my rebellious youth that could have been wilder!! |
| 15 * YOU PUT A SPELL | I remember this song vividly especially, on 20th June 1991 at Portsmouth G/Hall when some big biker decided to use my leg as a urinal!!!!!!!!!!! |
| 16 * (I JUST WANNA) B WITH U | Seeing WENDY and the boys perform this on Aspel was brilliant. I admired WENDY'S strength of character for not swinging at Maureen (nice slacks) Lipman!! Nice one WENDY! |
| 17*VELVETEEN | Stands apart from the disco chart music of 1989. A welcome relief from S.A.W. This song showed the bands heavier less commercial side. Showed a strong JAMES/SAYER interest in film scores. |
| I know my list is rather lengthy but I have tried to wittle it down.
As the tracks I have chosen all have a special significance to me.
